engine bay cover causing damage

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've noticed the missus 1.4 TDi has damage in the engine bay. Has anyone seen this "fault" before? Its the EGR valve under the engine bay cover.

I had this exact problem! Solution, mark on the cover where it runs on that vacuum pipe, cut it, wrap that pipe in insulation tape for more protection !

Later cars have a rubber sleeve over the pipe so it takes longer to rub through.

Could a spacer be placed under the cover to raise it up slightly? Pretty annoyed this is a "design flaw" that skoda don't want anything to do with...

Could do, easier just to trim a little out of the back of the cover.

Mine is a 57 reg and it too has the extra hose so it takes longer to rub through, that's why I cut a notch out of the cover and taped up pipe, to regain some protection
