Fabia mk2 Vrs water ingress

Featured Replies

Hi,

Have a water ingress problem with the Mk2 Vrs, water coming in (due to heavy rain all day today) at drivers door, almost directly above my shoulder so fairly well back along the seal, not sure how common this is but can now understand why we had problems with inside of windscreen freezing over last winter as well.

Would the following resolve the problem? And if so, are they easy to fit?

The seal on the top of the door to the roof does tend to get a bit bent from leaning on an open door.

Drivers door, you know who did it.

Passengers door they get upset if you warn them not to do it.

Thanks George, but it seems like it's the "internal" seal, the one running along the body around the door frame rather than the one on the actual door. When I reach back above my shoulder the water seems to be dripping from an area around an inch or two from the pillar, running along adjacent to the roof almost. I'll have a look at the door itself today in daylight, and yes will take it on the chin if it's been one of us leaning on top of door that's caused the problem.

And I'm not for telling the wee one it might have been her! Don't think she could reach that high but she could reach high enough to hurt me....

Hope you can clearly identify leak source soon Richard and rectify.

Never blame the missus, that's a no-no!!

Sittinbull,

Got you the last Oil Filter i wanted you to try that was in stock,

& will look at your seal later,   just off to see the 'Service Manager' and see how his knowledge holds up and see

if Skoda Fabia should be his specialist subject on Mastermind.

Doh yet another service desk that has staff that are certain that if it is 5w 40 oil it is only Semi Synthetic and it must be fully Synthetic. And disbelief that I would not want DSG 'recall work's. Even when I pointed out that they never recalled and I would wait until they guaranteed any work and extended the warranty.
