abs module replacement query

After clearing out water ingress to the abs multi connector on my Bosch 5.7(?) unit, found two of the pins have snapped.

If I can source a used item will the new module require encoding or are they plug-n-play.

After doing some Googling it appears that coding is likely to be required unless I can get the socket replaced - as the car's not worth much could be off to the scrappers

Unless you find an identical module from an identical car, then yes you will likely need it coding.

Sorry to ump on this thread, but from a comment above it suggests that it is possible to replace a module with a differ net part number? And then recode? I'm having difficulty locating a part for mine. (6q0 907 379 s 0001 / 6q0 907 379 s 0003) I do have a replacement but it's part number different (6q0 907 379 AG 0002 / 6q0 907 379 AG H04)

Can any shed any light on this?

Call your local dealer and they will tell you if the newer number is a later part and suitable.
