Help! VRs won't start after fuel filter change!

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Done plenty of these in the past as its so easy - however i just put new fuel filter into the VRS - put a small amount from old filter into new one, turned ignition on 10 times to prime, then it did start and ran a bit lumpy as expected, so kept the revs up and all was fine then it died. Now it wont start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Air lock somewhere? please advise! Thanks.

Isn't there a manual primer pump under the bonnet somewhere? I'm sure a few squeezes of this should sort it.

Course, probably pointless me saying anything now, given it's a week after you needed help...

It does state in the Haynes manual you should use a vacuum pump to draw fuel through before starting after a filter change, but I've never bothered.

Does take a while to get going though.

No,no pump on the VRS.

Undo the hoses, leave for little while then reconnect and turn on ignition but don't start do a few times then start. I had similar issue.

All sorted now thanks for the replies. Ended up just getting a quick tow down the road and forcing the thing to start!
