I am retired service engineer, mainly business equipment ( hardware-computers,photo copiers, printers etc) but have pottered aroung car electrics etc.

Wife has 2008 Skoda Fabia so always something to do. Allways looking for little snippets and willing to help anybody if I can!

Hi Ste, Aye did a fair milage (1500 per wk sometimes) but been retired 5 yrs now, liked the job ok but dont miss all the driving especially in the winter!

2012 Superb Xenons keeps failing

Since I bought the car 18 months ago the drivers side dipped beam keeps failing. Bulb is ok. I am on the 2nd headlamp and 2nd ballast. Anyone any ideas before I throw more money in the parts bin

Hello My skoda start keeping rpm in neutral around 900 to 950, yesterday i went for ride on motorway and engine light came on then few minutes after dpf light came on. Drove for 2 hours no issuses turbo works fine also power is fine, traffic was cray so was not able keep driving in high rpm. Will only driving in high RPM help to clear out or not? Should i use dpf additive? also it is 182k miles... Today i started the car in the morning and rpm was at normal.also dpf light is gone but engine lig

Hello all, I am looking for advice from the hive mind please. We have a 2012 Fabia Scout and it needs new shocks, maybe rear springs too. Most places list these items, but they are the standard Fabia items, and I believe that the Scout has a slightly different spec suspension. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get the correct items please? Many thanks in advance for advice received. Darren

After a day out my dash gave me the farewell message on length of trip, time driving , ave speed and the massive shocker of ave MPG of only 27, this is not a figure I want to see, it goes to show that getting caught up in rush hour traffic and crawling almost 3/4 mile up hill in bottom gear with plenty of clutch slipping, here my old diesel would have excelled with its strong pulling power at idling speed, then facing similar down to major road works only letting 4 cars through before changing a
