Those with a BKD engine and access to VCDS

Featured Replies

I'm after a little help here guys - I'm trying to work out if the torsion adjustment is a definitive fix for the judder that many seem to experience on their BKD based cars, whether that be in skoda/audi/vw/seat. If you have one of these engines could you copy and paste this little section out and add your own answers to it?

VCDS Group 4

Injection Duration :

Torsion Value :

VCDS Group 15

If you could do the above with no power consumers on, and then engine up to temperature I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you  :)

Judder : Yes but very slight. fly wheel / clutch was sliping previous but now isnt.

Year: 2005 remapped to 175bhp

Group 1

Injection quantity (at idle)  3.6mg/str

VCDS Group 4

Engine Idle Speed : 819rpm

Injection Duration : 5.6kw

Torsion Value : -1.0kw

VCDS Group 15

Engine Torque : 22.0 nm

Fuel Consumption : 0.40l/h

Thanks for the time taken to do that mate! Hoping for a few more so I can put this torsion value judder thing to bed!

Mine was finally adjusted by the dealership, its torsion is now 0.5 instead of -3.9. I'd have liked it at -0.5 but I'm lead to believe as the belt ages it'll drop down! You may find that if you get your timing fine tuned that judder/shake will disappear. The threads on other forums I've read suggest that you need 28nm of torque which usually pushes idle fuel consumption up to 0.6l/h

Had this, had it solved too.

It started after a cambelt change and was fixed by very slight adjustment of the static timing (I think that's what it was called).

The EGR doesn't help either mind...
