I think the Mazda looks more current and cutting edge, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Fiats looks stand the test of time longer. Mind you, I have a soft spot for an Abarth

You see, that's what they needed to do! Maybe if the original Alfa/Mazda tie-up had lasted, rather than Fiat getting the gig - it might have looked a bit closer to the visualisations seen last year.... :(

 

Why would anyone choose a Fiat version?

Turbocharged more fuel efficient engine, and a more powerful option to follow.

I think it looks better too.

Fiat can do design very well, but I think this looks like a mazda with a fiat badge

 

 

I liked the X1/9 in their day though I'll admit I'm not sure this has stood the test of time.

 

Barchetta was a bonny wee car though, and the coupe (Turbo) of that era still looks good.
