Fabia mk1 seat swaps for octy leathers?

Featured Replies

Saw someone breaking a vrs with octavia vrs leather seats going for £200

I have a vrs se and saw my seats go for around £800

So my question is whether they fit straight in or not, don't want to bug my dad having cut and weld it, wanting any leather seats that will fit straight in if they're cheap enough for me to give up my special edition vrs seats

If octavia leather seats are £200, I know I'd prefer those and £600 towards other mods, I don't plan on trying to uphold the resale value of the car as it will most likely go cheap to my brother or a friend when it comes to selling it anyway,

I think £800 is high for SE leather, thats custom leather price. a good condition set sold on here recently for around £600 though.

As for the octavia leather, no they dont fit in directly, cutting and welding is needed im afraid. Ive seen the octavia leathers sell for as little as £50 before.

Which leathers fit straight in for under £300 of any?

None im afraid, Leather is quite rare in the Fabia, thats why the Se leathers sell for so much money.

If you keep an eye out, because of the above, alot of people have used golf/passat/bora/leon etc etc leather seats and swapped the bases over, so they come up for sale every now and then around the 300 mark.

Polo 9n3 leather seats go straight in but they are incredibly rare and only seem to pop up on ebay once in a blue moon.

If there was any straight swaps for cheap I was thinking of selling my SE leathers to get myself some extra cash, probably leave it if I have to mess around, though.

Audi A1 seats go in. There's a fitment guide on here somewhere

Nothing goes straight in as a complete set. Some fronts do.... The rears either need welding or patching and welding. If you're paying markets rates for the work, that's another couple of hundred quid.

As you already have SE leathers, IMO there's no point in reinventing the wheel. Maybe get on the Seat surgeons or similar about re-trimming the door cards to match. Or take a look at adding seat heaters. A couple of topics floating around Fabia 1 section from over the years.

Porche 944 leather seats will fit if u can find some in good condition

A few people on seatcupra.net used to fit them into there ibiza so there for they must fit the fabias

This has been done to death, surprised you haven't read the interiors photo thread as that covers all the options

Cheap one ( but not poor ) is Recaros, many have done ( including me) to get leather, which I have and very happy with.

You get yourself donor seats ( or your own if really tatty unsaleable), get some nice Recaro golf or octy seats, and just transfer some of the bits across so the bases match.

Thats a shorter explanation than it but its mostly a nuts and bolts transfer for the main, no welding unless you need to bolster supports removed from one seat to put in the other.

You are just using the original bases basically and transferring everything else mostly and its fairly DIY'able with some common sense to it.

It would be anything from 2-5hours labour depending on your efficiency.
