Rapid Car Mapping

Featured Replies

Anyone heard of rapid car mapping?

Ive got a quote of 160 for a stage 1 map on my fabia vrs.

I know alot of people will say to pay more for a more known and trusted mapper, ie Shark, Rtech etc, however I just wanted to know if anyone have any experience with rapid car mapping?

You looked at faboka on here? Does remote mapping as well

Well I had the car mapped by rapid car mapping today morning. The guy maps from home, so I left if with him for an hour and popped to costco for coffee. When it was ready, I took the car for a test drive, no decent roads around the area to really test the car, however at the time, there seemed to be more power above 2k revs, but lost lower down response, but werent noticeable at the time due to the quick test drive. So I paid the guy and went home. I took A roads and motorway, and the difference between standard and mapped, I couldn't tell, it actually felt worse mapped. I drove the car around for a few hours and was not happy with it.

I contacted the guy and he refunded me part of what I paid, reason being;

When he attempted to map, his software came up with a "unknown ecu" error message, so he then passed on, as he says, my ecu file to Regal Tuning to map.

The map was less responsive, and appeared to be faster as power came in at a later rpm all at once.

The cars now standard again and feels so much better, responsive and quicker.

The guy who mapped my car was very pleasant, however the map done by Regal Tuning was rubbish.

Ive had a search on fabooka and can he see hes from Merseyside, which from Birmingham is quite far, however, at the price I dont mind.

Ive also found Midlands Tuning, and wondered if anyone has experience with them.

Ultimately, after today I wanted to know, for the fabia vrs, is a stage 1 map compares to standard, a "night and day" difference?

Apologies for the long post lol

Get a full refund and Use faboka.

If you are happy to buy a few cables he sends you a map and you install it. He will continue to tweek it until you are happy.

Yes.

...and there's no such thing as a 'stage 1' map, it's either remapped properly or it's not.

Thanks for the replies. I wouldn't mind going up to him, I have messaged faboka vrs on here, so just awaiting a reply :-)

  • 2 weeks later...

Had my Audi TT mapped by Rapid Car Mapping. He came to my house & downloaded the map through his iPhone. The result was OK but I would suspect that there are better maps out there. Now sold TT & have a VRS SE.

What I noticed with my map was it pulled better. The power band was bigger from 2k and beyond.

Standard was 2-3k and then puff.

Like many have said, go to a reputable mapper.

I went to Shark as I heard good things about them and managed to pull out a DIRTY discount too. Lol

Fabooka is MASSIVE on here and his work speaks for itself .

I'm hoping to pay him a visit when I'm due my next upgrade ;D

(Casually name dropping) lol

As above have mentioned:

Fabooka from Hidden Power is the place to go.

That is where I intend to get sorted once my insurance drops a tad more, and I can find an insurer that will cover me with a remapped car!

Another vote for john (faboka) at hidden power. He's just finished mapping my hybrid fabia and the results are excellent. He's very well priced and as long as you are competant with a laptop for vcds then you will be fine :) (even if you aren't there are a load of guides on his website!)

99% of so called 'mappers' are just flashing generic maps onto cars,it is unbelievable how easy it is tbh.

We are very lucky having John on here and being so knowledgeable on our cars/ECU'S, as he is a 'real' mapper so alters every map to how you want it/what the logs show etc :)

Also his prices are a bargain for a proper map,as most of the so called 'mappers' that just flash a generic map on charge atleast the same as John if not more in some cases. :)

Exactly. I have a whole email thread of my group 11 logs that i was sending to him. It was overboosting horribly and in about 3 maps it was under control... He's a wizard i swear :P

In a Harry Potter voice : " A WIZARD!?!?"
