Ping...Ping.....I've found the Ping.........

Featured Replies

The worst one IMHO is the low washer fluid one, as that one is LOUD unlike the temperature warning, which appears to be lower volume. Personally I'd prefer them switched ;)

First day I had my Fabia it decided it had low screen wash and low fuel as I was chugging along the motorway. SWMBO thought something major had fallen off the car

I'd be quite happy with just the warning lights on the dash ;)

You'd have to be a f****** moron to miss a light on it's own - the buzzer's complete overkill IMHO.

Is there a config setting in the VAG-COM software for the sound?

Or, where's the speaker?

i like the pings... when people are in the car its cool cause u can show how clever the car is! Personally i wish fabia had the seatbelt warning like the octy.

I wouldn't really call it a ping. The temperature warning is more of a friendly bong. The warning noise (for fuel and washer fluid) is more of a BEEEEEEEEEP!.

The bong is quite soothing whereas the beep scares the **** out of me. It's not quite as loud as the MkIV Golf/Bora one which is a blessing.

I swear the washer fluid resevoir is about half a pint cause I'm forever filling it up. I much prefered the 4 litre tank on my previous VW.

It used to as my Fabia had it. Don't miss it one bit ;)

5 liter tank in the Xenon-equipped Fabia, and at this time of year that still runs out pretty quick :( - in summer I probably do about 3000 miles before the stuff runs out, in the winter I reckon 1000 miles tops, just the type of conditions I suppose ;)

1000 miles? I've taken to carrying a tub of fluid in the boot 'cos I had to fill mine THREE times last weeks - that's something like every 100 miles! :thumbdwn:

IIRC, the non-Xenon Fabia only has a 2-litre water bottle and I found I could easily use that on a trip from Southampton to Birmingham this time last year. :(

Chris

I've done about 12k in my Fabia and never had to top mine up. Do you guys like the smell or something?
