Greenline 3 wheel size

Featured Replies

I'm changing from an Octavia ii greenline to a Octavia iii greenline imminently. We bought a space saver spare wheel for the existing car from skoda as part of a special deal. Will this spacesaver fit the new greenline or has wheelsize/bolt pattern etc changed?. I know I'll need a new jack as jacking point changed on mk3.

Also any recommendations for a good place to get decent fitted seatcovers and floor mats?. Only really need front seat covers but they'll be on virtually all the time so don't want typical loose universal Halfords type.

I am running Octavia greenline (Velorum) wheels on my MY16 SE-L, these were supplied as the 16" rim option, also running the Energy saving Goodyear tyres.

I am successfully using the same (16") rims that I used on the Yeti that I had previously as my winter rims.

The spare that was supplied with my new car was a FULL SIZE steel rim with a standard tyre. Which of course means that if I ever have to use the spare I am not limited to speed or distance as is sometimes the case with space savers.

I don't have the greenline, but are you sure that the tyre on the spare is standard? My spare is full size (205/55R16) but the actual tyre is some sort of specialist spare tyre with only a few mm of tread and a designation as a 'temporary' wheel, even though it isn't space saving. I believe that it suffers the same speed/distance restriction as the skinny space savers, despite saving no space at all!

I realise I can just buy a new fullsize spare. But my question is will the existing spare fit the new model?. I'm not really bothered about the speed restrictions as it will only ever be on long enough to drive to nearest tyre place to get proper wheel replaced.  But I do want a spare of some description as the only puncture I had in 4 yrs on current car was a sidewall failure and can of foam provided would have been no use whatsoever. Dont see point shelling out for a new spare if existing one will fit.

But my question is will the existing spare fit the new model?.

From a purely mechanical point of view, the wheel will fit on the hub. There is a big space for the wheel under the boot floor, so that will be fine too.

As an aside, I too have a Greenline with a standard full size 205/55/16 spare wheel. It fits no problem into the wheel well in the boot.

All the best.

I don't have a Greenline either - its an SE-L but was supplied with the Greenline style wheels and Energy efficient tyres (thats what you get if you spec 16" wheels on the SE-L).

My spare is another Goodyear tyre the same as those on the road wheels.

There are no restriction stickers.

One up for the SE-L compared to the old Elegance then, as you couldn't 'downgrade' to 16" wheels on the Elegance. Not that it mattered as I didn't buy new in the end so you pick from what's there.

I'm glad some common sense has been added to the spec restrictions.
