I've got a few things I'd like to enable on my MY16, but the VCDS Lite page isnt really clear if I can do this with the Lite version ( even if registered... )

 

Speed Limit on maxidot ( I have the colour maxidot )

Passenger mirror dip on reverse

High Beam Assist

Alternating DRL / Indicator

Teardrop Wipe

...anything else fun...

 

I've managed to enable to the Lap Timer using Carista, but not much else, can these mods be done with the lite version ? I have a bluetooth OBD adapter that works great with my laptop and android, so hoping I can use that, but also have a generic ELM based USB cable that is CAN compatible...

 

Anyone able to help ?

No VCDS lite won't work on a mk3.

 

You'll need a HEX+CAN or Micro CAN cable for VCDS to work with a mk3.

 

VCDS lite is only for the generic 3rd party interfaces that won't support CAN.

No point paying $99 for VCDS that wont work for a MK3 ? The Micro CAN is $249

See if you can find a member local to you with VCDS. Many are happy enough to enable options for you
