Motor Fan Fabia MK2

Featured Replies

Good evening

Few days ago, I was in my car in a parking with the engine running when i noticed that the fan started working for just few seconds (10 seconds) and then stopped for 3 min and started again.

Is this normal ?

I assume you mean the radiator fan. It'll come on and switch off as it pleases, as long as it doesn't overheat it should be fine.

How can i know is overheating ??? on my fabia i dont have oil temperature indicator, i just have a red light that indicates overheat if the temperature goes higher than normal

It is usual when you stop for a cooling fan to kick in and be sure the radiator & water pump is cooling to engine correctly.

As you described what happen sounds fine.

Even when the fan start working for just few seconds (10 seconds) and then stopped for 3 min and started again for another 10 sec and stopped for 3 min and star.....

Yeah thats fine

When youre at a standstill theres no air going around the engine bay, so it soon heats up.

The fan knocks it down faster than youd think. Its really quite good.

Id be more worried if my fan didnt come on :)
