Bluetooth retrofit -coding?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

This is my forst post although I have been viewing the forum since I got my Superb lat last year. Its a 2010 SE estate with the electric tailgate - one of the best things i have ever had on a car!.

My question concerns retrofitting Bluetooth to the car - it has the Bolero stereo. I have just upgraded to an android phone from a Blackberry which conencted to an ancient Jabra bluetooth device - the new phone won't connect to that so I have been looking at retrrofitting a genuine Skoda bluetooth module and kit - can get it from a company called Car Communications - however they say that once fitted it will need taking to dealer for coding using their plug in computer thing. Does anyone have any idea what a delaer may charge for this or indeed any other solutions for using my phone whilst driving (I use the car for work and spend a lot of time on the road and on the phone).

Many thanks in advance for any feedback/suggestions.

I must add that I love the Superb, I came from a Saab 95 estate and I don't regret the change - although the Saab did do 156,000 miles for me,.

Use the vcds members map on here to find someone local to code it for you. I would imagine that a dealer would charge and hours labour. Maybe also try and find a local indy vag specialist.

Welcome Chris, I have VCDS and I am in Folkestone if that is any use to you

Hi Gizmo68 - I am often in the Folkestone area with work so this could be an option - don't take this the wrong way but is this something that can be definately done - I don't want to spend the best part of £300 on the parts and then not be able to get it to work.

Assuming I do go ahead how do I contact you regarding VCDS coding?

Providing the Bolero with accept the kit (I assume it will but I have only coded the Columbus fitted to the elegance) then yes it will work, they do state:

Note1. If the car does not have a Multi Function Steering Wheel then a touch-screen radio or radio navigation system must be installed, otherwise there will be no controls to operate the Bluetooth™ interface.

Note 2. Vehicle may require coding at a Skoda dealership or a specialist with VAGCOM diagnostic software, after the kit has been installed. Coding not required if vehicle already had factory fitted Bluetooth telephone.

I assume the SE has the MFSW already?

As for coding drop me a PM when you have it all fitted.
