Rear wiper

Go on you tube "Skoda superb 2015 review is it really car of the year?"

Good video if you think shall I get a rear wiper or not?

I suppose it will also depend a lot on the type of driving you do, sure if you do mostly 30mph journeys then it may well be beneficial.

It's very early days as I have only done around 130 miles but these have all been in either damp, drizzle or heavy rain and rear visibility has not been an issue, this is will no treatment on the glass ... BUT it has mostly been dual carriageway speeds.

This video was already in this thread where I expressed my opinion in concurrence with Bob Flavin.

Since then we've had a considerable amount of wet (and windy!) weather and I've added an additional 1,000+ miles.

My experience has been that the airflow over the car does a great job of clearing the water off the roof - and dumping it all down the rear window.

Over the last two weeks I've had the rear wiper switched on, and left on, possibly more times than in the entire four years I had a Superb II Combi, the latter only ever needing the occasional single-flick wipe.

My wet driving has generally been A and B roads around the 30 to 50 mph mark, so I can't comment on the effect at consistent motorway speeds - I leave that to Gizmo.

I also appreciate people's opinions that it spoils the smooth lines even though I may not necessarily agree.

I'd still highly recommend anyone considering ordering the Superb III hatchback to opt for the rear wiper - or ensure they treat the rear screen with a high quality water dispersant.
