Help, wounded Roomster

Featured Replies

My sister has had a few tiles come off the roof of her house and one has hit her car. Helpfully a piece of tile has wedged itself between the bonnet and wing.

Any ideas on cost of repair?

Why not email the pics to someone like "Chips away" They could probably give a rough estimate.

Your house insurance will cover that.

No it doesn't unfortunately.

Oh, I thought that was pretty standard?

Apparently not. When my sister spoke to the home insurance people they were adamant damage to any vehicle from tiles falling off the house would definitely not be covered.

Just an update to this, the car is getting a new wing and bonnet.

I actually saw the car just before Christmas and the damage is worse than the pictures suggested.  The whole wing is deformed and the bonnet has been shunted sideways.  You can see and feel where the wing wraps around the headlight how it has bent out of shape.

Whilst only a small piece of the tile stuck in the gap, it was a whole tile which hit the car and with a lot of force.  The remainder of the tile just shattered into little pieces.  Apparently it took someone at a body shop 10 minutes to get the tile fragment out
