Decat straight pipe, anything I need to do?

Featured Replies

Just to clarify I want sound, the louder the better (being as you can't really get too loud on a diesel without big mods) hate just hearing hhhrrrrr from the engine and no exhaust or 'power' sound.

If I get a straight pipe put it, deleting that cat as well will I need I do anything else? Hopefully just a cheap job, pipe and tip like a mufflerectomy but the cat as well.

I've heard about decat making the standard turbo fail but then I've also read people being fine with it and if at all, it's only a long term eventual problem?

Discus below, thanks.

Have a look at Jamie's thread "new red vrs" or somthing like that. He's put pictures and videos on of his exhaust.

As hutchy said, have a look at my build thread 'my new red fabia vrs' I managed to get hold of a full Milltek system pretty cheap including downpipe decat, mid section and rear back box section. I've now had the rear back box section taken out and straight pipe to a tip, sounds so much better and louder!

If you wanted to do it on the cheap you can always cut your cat out and replace it with a straight section or knock the cat out...

And as for the mufflerectomy you could cut the exhaust before the rear axle and have the pipe made up or you can cut your back box open, saw it on a thread a couple days ago...
