Probably a thick question / topic

Featured Replies

if they argue you ask them to go get someone that knows why you want them changed.*

pmsl ;)

I have been told and been there when others were told, it is a diesel and has no spark plugs.

They do not come with an automatic gearbox etc., She even told me she had a Skoda vRS for a few months.

I pointed out it was a newer version, and she said, hers was outside, and it was a brand new demonstrator, Mk2.

One guy recently told sittingbull that the sparkplugs are good for 70,000 miles.

and when i went in to see what 'Gordon is a Moron' would tell me,

i got another plonker that told me that 5w 40 oil is not Fully Synthetic so they can not use it,

and that they could not give a price to change the spark plugs, but if one was wrong the workshop would change it.

(That was a Skoda Main Dealer though.)

The guy put me on hold, went and did his thing, came back on the phone and was really blunt 'we can't service your car. You will need to go to Skoda. There's one in burnley (colne).

I've put on Facebook asking about this and they're like WTF.

It was Lookers VW Blackburn that I called. They said they'd need to call me back, they did and said that they can not service my car and then directed me to Skoda at Colne.

Maybe they just didn't want to service your car?

Why would any business turn down trade? I'd go mad if one of my members of staff turned away anyone without a valid reason.

Spot on.

You wouldnt catch me turning down work unless there really was a good reason.

But vxh often puts a 'different' spin on things.

The car isn't going to spontaneously blow up if you leave the service for an extra month you know. It just isn't. Get it done mid to end of January.

A bit off topic but it's amazing how many times I (and also friends and relatives) have been let down by tradesmen who fail to show up (decent jobs as well - not just changing a washer or a bit of joinery work on a door).

There was someone on here (Briskoda - not this specific sub forum) who had an Audi dealer refuse to service his Skoda because they didn't want a Skoda on their premises lowering the tone :D !

Haha really? That is madness!!! Wow! I looked at getting an Audi but second I couldn't find any with decent milage on it for a decent price. No regrets on the VRS though, just going to fork out the £200 and take it to Skoda I think.

As long as you get the Inspection Service done, diagnostic and any Software Updates and Enhancements for that price its good.

Keeps the Warranty Valid.

Have fun with your trip

& enjoy your car.
