Fabmk3 alarm ?

Featured Replies

Still trying to figure out if the SEL version has an alarm or not ?   anyone know ?

thanks DDT

Only if you ordered it, man !

Standard Style in IRL (similar, though not same as UK SEL) doesn't have alarm as standard.

If you did order it, it's mixed in with one of the KESSY options as far as I recall ...

Anyway - if it has - there'll be a square button on the B pillar - beside the drivers door. It'll be down low on the pillar - at about seat squab height. ...

Yep - it's on p55 - Fig 40 of the Manual...

hmm,  that's a no then !

Ha haa -  copped me on with the "DDT" bit there -- close - but not ... THAT close !!

Yep - Found out what the alarm sounds like at an air-show in Portrush during the summer - went to see last visit of the Vulcan bomber to Ireland. ( yes - it was awesome !)

But - a Typhoon went after the Vulcan and flew overhead a few times - so loud - like tearing-the-air-apart loud - and enough to set off the Fabia alarm a couple of times.

Great to know what it sounded like - and that it worked !! The Fabia Alarm. The Typhoon worked just something awesome!

Wait, what about the little pulsating red light on the driver's side door? I thought that was the alarm indicator?

Mea Culpa --- yes, of course, jon15 --- All the cars have a standard alarm - protecting doors, hatch and bonnet.

When dadumtish asked about SEL - I assumed he meant the full alarm with interior monitoring.

I'm sorry that I jumped to that assumption so quickly.

Full info on handbook pages 54 + !!

My assumption probably came from my way of thinking that an alarm without interior monitoring, is not going to be a whole lot of use in practice. (If any car alarm is of much use anyway!)

The favoured break and enter method around here, is by breaking a window (or several windows in my experience a few years ago) - so, no doors or bonnets are opened. So, alarm without interior monitoring is not much help there. My Passat then did not have it. So, no alarm went off.

OK - sorry again guys.

 to be honest

i suggest it might be better not to post responses to questions    unless you are sure of what you are saying .

Point taken. I should've double-checked before posting.

If you bought the SE or SEL in the UK it *does* come with the alarm! You can check by going into the car settings and, go to lock. If there's an option at the bottom for your alarm to go "beep beep" when you lock it...well, you have an alarm. I didn't order one, but I sure as hell got one :D
