How late can an order be changed?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've a build date of week 1 but would like to make a fairly significant change to my order (delete some extras & add DSG).  My dealer is looking into it but has said that the order is a pre-build frozen period.  I can understand that the factory have to plan builds, schedule parts orders etc, but was wondering if anyone has succeeded in actually changing an order this far in as opposed to the dealer taking the original car into stock and ordering another one?

I just did the same - added DSG. My dealer told me that the order could be changed as long as it did not have a confirmed BW.

(And on another note, my current car is identical to yours :))

Thanks - sounds like I might be in trouble so although the dealer did say that he'd try his best to change it.  DSG is a €3k option here so I had to think long and hard about it.  You were more adventurous than me with your new Superb.  I went for another diesel in a relatively tame colour (business grey)

Hi

I have the same build week and rang the dealer today to add the led interior lights

Granted not as bigger change as yours but the dealer is gonna try but it might be impossible

I will let you know if I succeed or not

I'm going back four years to when I ordered my Superb II and was given the exact same information, with the caveat that it could slip back as a result.

I ordered the Superb III from a different dealer and asked the same question. The answer was up to about two weeks before it's built - which I figured amounted to the same thing.

Spoke to them today and the man from skoda said 'No'

It has now been locked in for that given build week and no changes allowed

Cheers

Thanks, I was very lucky and it seems that the salesman had good contacts as he succeeded in changing the order.  Back a bit to week three but worth it.  Could be that some component changes are easier then others maybe?
