Which pads lake country or cg hex?

Featured Replies

So my missus has just bought me scholl s3 gold xxl and scholl s40 as she overheard me mention to my brother that I wanted to try them, anyways if anyone has tried these products what pads you think The chemical guys hex pads which colour pads for both products, and if the lake country pads again which colour pads for both. Probably worth mentioning that my car only has light/medium swirls, I have only owned the car a few weeks and not had a real chance to play about with the paint. Thanks.

I've used both, but the lake country pads was a good while ago.

I prefer CG Hex Logic, and they seem to last a lot longer than any others that I've used in the past too.

I've got the orange (heavy polish) and green (medium polish) pads. They're all I need personally. Orange for the heavier swirls and green for refining. But you may only need green and white.

Hey Sean - as Neil has said above..... the Hexlogic are very popular and rightly so.

Good quality and results across the board - with most polishes/compounds.

Orange, Green or White, then Black generally cover my needs these days i must admit.

Chart below - which may help...

Awesome ste thanks for that. So am I right in thinking when using the s40 to use the black hex pad?

If this is on VAG paint.... the black pad may be a tad too soft really; but depends what level of finish you have.

The green and white pads are very flexible across a few compounds, i have found.

Try get yourself a soft, medium and firm pad selection...... then just have a play with the compounds you have
