Gear box problem on a MK1

Featured Replies

My 2006 vrs seems to be developing a sleigh Issue with engaging first , when sat at lights in neutral then going to engage 1st and seaming like the gauge isn't opening fully and not allowing the gear to engage? Any one had this before or have an idea for why ? Cheers chaps

Have you looking into how to reset the gear linkages?

Is reverse the same sometimes?

Here is how to reset the linkage. Dead easy and can make a huge difference.

On the vRS you'll have to remove the battery and tray to get access to the top of the gearbox.

LMAO at sleigh problem, very festive!!!! :D

Pull the air box out to get to the linkages. If that doesn't work it could be play in the input shaft bearings.
