Dashlights are on when ignition is on...

Featured Replies

Noticed that my dash lights are on when ignition is on even though my lights are turned off! also this may be linked but I cant dim the dash lights or higher or lower my headlights. any help or ideas . thanks have not long owned the Octavia :D

That sounds like a wiring fault with the dash lights; possibly they're connected to the headlight levelling control?

Which may also have solved the headlight levelling, or alternatively it's not unknown for the levelling motors to come mechanically disconnected from the units but that would look normal.

So I'm seriously suggesting solving the dash lights issue first.

Thanks for the reply.

Have since noticed turning the side lights on with no key will turn the ignition on... radio comes on and when I turn them off radio goes off. its defo the ignitions as when I turn them off the locks pop back up as if you just removed the key... hope this isn't a bad wiring job will have to take a closer look. maybe a bad ccm?

Thanks for the reply.

Sadly, this is the bit where I have to say that they're golden, not crystal, and advise you to seek a good auto electrician.
