Turbo gone

Featured Replies

Hello bought a Fabia vrs about a month ago and the turbos gone on it unfortunately :( was just wondering if anybody knows if I can put a turbo from a 1.9 golf on it?? Also will it affect my performance atall?

Aslong as its a 130bhp golf then the performance would be the same. I'm sure the exhaust flange is different though.

Fabia vrs is three bolt fixing and golf has the large round clamp.

Do you know if there's anyway of changing that don't really know to much to be honest, just trying to find the cheapest way to solve my problem cheers

Best way is to get one that's designed for your engine code. So just type ASZ or BLT turbo into ebay and there'll be loads on there.

The other choice is a motor factors like euro car parts who do new and remanufactured turbos.

When I looked at my turbo recently I noticed it has the big round clamp like the golf and don't really see how you would swap it as the bit it connects to is part of the turbo casing;

If are really looking for the cheapest option (and don't mind diy) you can get just the wear bits called a CHRS or cassette at about £100. Also need to change the oil feed pipe and any o rings and gaskets. Lots of video on you tube.

CHRA = Centre Housing Rotating Assembly.

Yeah, one of those
