stop start function

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Can you guys confirm that I'm experiencing normal operation of the stop start function? Specifically I notice that when I've been driving at night this sees the car deactivate stop start function ; the A symbol with the circular arrow shows up on my maxidot with a line through it.

In the day time though it activates fine once out of gear and clutch released. The manual talks about the system will deactivate if there is significant demand on the electrical system or battery charge is low. Shouldn't be the latter as I've been doing significant journeys (not five minute pop to the shops), guess if I have lights and canton sound on its using too much juice? Do others notice this same pattern?

Thanks

Night time could equal colder weather and therefore longer before getting up to temperature and becoming available?

I've noticed this a couple of times on mine. There's a function in the Amundsen that tells you why the stop start has deactivated, on mine it said something along the lines of 'risk of windscreen fogging'. You'll have to excuse the vagueness but might be worth checking?

My Ibiza has start stop, and it won't activate unless the engine is at temperature and there is enough stored energy to keep everything running with the engine off.

Specifically I find that having the air con on often prevents the system engaging, and I can understand it not stopping if there is a fogging risk.

My ibiza doesn't have a complex display so I don't know why it doesn't stop, but I am aware that the a/c will stop working when the system stops so would fog the screen.

Hope this helps!
