I'm loosing coolant in my 11 plate Scout, It has been to the 2 local skoda dealers and neither can find fault with it, the pattern is not consistent, it can go weeks and loose nothing then loose a header tank full in a few days! Has anybody had anything like this, or any ideas what could be going on?

Did the places that checked have a qualified Motor Engineer or Technician actually pressure check the Coolant System.

& did they charge cash money to find nothing?

 

If you fill the coolant to just above MIN, (Not to MAX.) 

Does it still lose coolant once it has been on runs to full operating temperature.

If it is, then there is a Leak, pressure cap problem, Hose / Hose Clip loose, Water Pump / Gasket or an internal engine fault,

Head Gasket possibly.

But then the trained Technician should know that and find which.

Sorry for the late reply, 

Both garages said they had pressure checked the system, one garage charged me to find nothing, one didn't  

Have tried the keeping the level down, but still looses it, 

 

One technician said it could be a slight leak on the water pump, its due a cam belt so will change the water pump aswell see if that solves the problem.
