Hello guys,

I'm planning to upgrade my car with some rear-view camera and i'm not sure that my Bolero unit is prepared for this.  I don't understand what type of unit is it (MIB 1, MIB 2 etc) to be able to check it's specs and i don't wnat to dismount it to check it's connectors.

It says like this:part number 5E0035812A, Hardware 041

Can you please help?

Thanks a lot in advance!

@Croat and @aki87

Could anyone of you share the instructions and download link for 490 with me?

Can anyone with newer than 435 let me know if any MP3 tag database support has been added as folders are a bit old hat...

one thing, the update portal shows for me no updates available.

where do you get the firmwares from?

mine is also few versions behind as far as I see.

Can you clarify a bit what you want to know?

You wont find this firmware update on Skoda web page.

The current system just allows you to browse folders (which isn't too bad as I have albums organised into folders with playlists for year and also alphabetically into a few groups).

Most modern cars will read the whole card structure and build a database from the ID3 tags so you can browse by album / artist / year / genre etc without having to set it all up yourself manually.

Then, no, it is not in the latest firmware and I guess it is not in the MIB2 units either. It is also a safe bet that it will never be, since these firmware updates are not adding new features - just correcting bugs.

Also, and knowing how software development works, teams are always "working on the next thing" so, whatever you see launched to the market is in "maintenance mode" with minimum resources. Unless there are big issues that need to be solved, updates are not pushed anymore.

Maybe the MIB3 (or whatever the new infotainment system will be called...) will have that functionality.

If you want a more polished system, I recommend you take a look at the aftermarket systems by Pioneer and Alpine - they are costly but surely better than the stock unit.

There is a Columbus MIB 1 removed from a write off 2014 Octavia VRS for sale here in Australia that I'm considering purchasing and swapping out for my Bolero MIB1 on my early 2015 Octavia.

Am I likely to experience issues with this given the VIN identification is different?

Can someone advise?

I am pretty sure it won't work/it is not possible, so don't waste your time and money. At the very least, it will throw a component protection error and that can only be sorted if the dealer disables component protection.

Hi,

Firmware seems to be very old...
Device: 5E0035842A
Hardware: 040
Software: 0407 (!!)

Could you please sent the new Firmware to me?
Tank you very much :)

Hi,
I've also an old firmware in my Bolero.

Device: 5E0035819A
Hardware: 040
Software: 0421

I have a problem with Bluetooth connection. I have Lumia 1020 with windows mobile 8.1 (the most current firmware).  There is no problem with phone connection using this bluetooth, but I have a problem with navi Here+. When this phone is connected with skoda (as seeen on phone and Bolero screen - AD2P active) no voice commands is heard from the car speakers (also form phone speakers as connected to skoda, to hear navi I have to disconnect the bluetooth). I have also SEAT Ibiza and this Lumia 1020 Here+ navi works great with Seat Bluetooth (the navi is heard from car speakers even the radio or CD i turned on).

Maybe the new firmware or also Bluetooth update can resove this issue?

Could you please sent the new Firmware and Bluetooth update also to me or anybody can resolve a bluetooth issue?
Tank you very much :)
