Hi all

I'm Steve from Cardiff in South Wales. I've just gotten my new (to me) Skoda, a 51 reg (2002) Octavia Elegance 1.9TDi estate. From the moment I test drove an Octavia from a dealer, I was amazed by the quality and solid feel of the car, especially for the price - the 406s and V40s I was also considering left my mind forever!

The car has already proven itself, carrying me safely across the Severn Bridge through that torrential rain yesterday afternoon, and I feel as secure in it as in my old Volvo 440.

I was directed here by a friend who owns a Fabia vRS.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the car's name is 8Ace, after Viz comic's thirsty family man, Octavius '8Ace' Ace.

hello and welcome. I took am a Skoda newbie and have only been driving my Octavia 1.9 Tdi Laurent Klement for a day but am very impressed by the build quality and it easily beats cars twice its price
