Karcher K2

Featured Replies

Sorry everyone probably a well covered topic.

But long story short my girlfriend got me a Karcher K2 for my birthday ! :)

Any reviews or suggestions still fully packaged so if it's really rubbish can send it back to change it for something else.

Will only be used for personal cars and not every day. Like once a week when weather gets better.

Thanks all

Richard.

It will be fine mate. As long as you protect it against frost it will serve you well.

The motors are air cooled and not water cooled so don't use it for patios etc. My mate did with mine and it broke, so I got a K4 which has been excellent.

Nilfisk has a good reputation also if you fancy one of those instead, but I like Karcher personally.

Evening Richard,

I have the karcher K4. I wash my own car & 3 others once a week. Had it 12 month nearly now. Works as it did when new.

Great machines when looked after for example - draining the water before putting away. Never run with out water running through (given with any pressure washer)

Came with a 4 year guarantee too.

For your uses you should be well away & the pressure should be fine for what you need buddy.

Hope this helps.

Enjoy.

Karl.

Great advice Karl.

Also, if storing it outside and you know there is a danger of frost getting to it, wrap it in towels or something of that ilk- simples. That way there is no danger of it becoming broken.

Thanks both glad your both giving good reviews.

The valeters pressure washers are Karcher so always thought about that brand.

Can't wait to use it, probably will invest in a snowfoam lance eventually too. Going to be 100 times better than the standard garden hose I used to use!

Again thank you both

Storage is going to be the big thing, hoping it can be inside well in the utility room :) if not will end up in the garage so will grab some big towels or blankets. Never thought about that before, brilliant.

Once again thank you :)

Hope you've had a nice Christmas and if I'm not on here tomorrow. A happy new year too. ( that also goes for anyone reading this )

Clean your car do a cracking snow foam Lance with a karcher fitting.

As for you other comment on storage. I keep mine in my garage with the car, as Neil above mentioned wrapped in a towel or something to protect/keep warm.

If it's an issue for you, keep inside the house & you'll have no problems what so ever if drained and de-pressurised before putting away :)

EDIT - hope you have had a good Christmas too Richard & all the best for the new year! Enjoy the detailing!

I bought the above for my Dad after Chris found it on ebay. A steal at that price, although I bought the one from CYC like Karl mentioned a few years ago and it is still going strong!

Had a K2 for a few years now, not bad but there are better out there. It cleans the car easily enough and it can clean a drive too, not the fastest of jobs but it can do it. Also it's been stored in a garage all its life without being drained or wrapped up and it's been no bother. They also do a nice little adjustable angle end for it which while being a bit over priced is very handy for wheel arches and sills.
