Got the thermostat like bleep red, turned car off then on and now been running 5 mins and temp gauge hasn't moved.

Change the ECT sensor, it's cheap and easy to do.

It's moved now after 10 mins driving,

Is that something wrong or just ignore it unless it continues?first time any red light has beeped up so I got worried.

Change your thermostat as well.

Have you checked coolant level?

 

Will probably be ok,if it is the beep and warning light it will be a faulty sensor in your header tank,common problem on these,loads of info on here.

 

Ref the coolant gauge,look at the lowest end of temp scale and what's it say,50oC?

 

Like most modern cars the gauges no longer start off at zero,so before you gauge will move at all you need coolant to be 50oC .

With one of these sat ticking over it takes ages for gauge to move
