Removing Gear Linkage Part

Featured Replies

Hi,

I tried to adjust my shifter today to make it more accurate and broke one of the legs on the shifter cable holder.

The holder I have is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BOWDEN-GEARSHIFT-LATER-STYLE-CABLE-CATCH-NEW-FOR-VW-AUDI-SEAT-SKODA-GOLF-/361463523094?hash=item5428e7a716:g:t6YAAMXQJRhRbBf3 but I have absoultely no idea how to remove this from the gearbox. There appears to be a clip but it can't be removed with anything I've got. Does anyone know?

From memory you just lift up the centre bit of the clip, and it slides off like a circlip.

+1 on what Kenny R said, a small flat blade screwdriver is your friend there.

Yep I did it. Thanks very much, put the spare on and had a nightmare re-setting it but it works better than ever now
