Ghostly windows

Featured Replies

Hi all my front windows are going up and down themselves at random times. Then sometimes the auto up/down is again on & off. Also I can hear the odd clicking in the doors. Now I do know it's been raining on biblical ways so I'm hoping a drop of rain hasn't got in. Has anybody experienced the same plz

It has happened to me once. Suddenly all four windows opened. Luckily I was parking that time at no low speed... after closing them my car locked it too (twice).
No idea why did it happen but it hasn't repeated since than.

One guy here on forum said that he resetted all to factory settings and it helped (I guess it's the thing you do in Maxidot options) if I understood him right.

You aren't sitting on the keys are you?

If you press and hold the unlock button on the key fob the windows will lower.

You should also try resetting the one touch feature:

Put the window down, then put it up. Let go of the button, then pull it up and hold it up for 3 seconds.

If these aren't the issue I'd suggest an electrical fault is the cause. The wiring loom between the drivers door and the body has a reputation for wearing where it passes through the flexible hose...

The reset is what I did by holding the button down. Just a weird going on tbh, as long as it doesn't play up in the middle of the night that's the main thing

Sounds like water getting into the electrics somewhere.

Check all the connectors where the door and car main wiring meet. Disconnect them and look inside for any corrosion (Green).

No corrosion & loom all fine thanks. All I can assume is damp in the switch just hope it dries out
