Happy new car day!

Featured Replies

So I had a my15 may 2015 VRS in black (manual)

Today just swapped her for a my16 in White!!! Auto too [emoji51]62 miles on when I picked her up, love the new car smell!!

Few nice new features on the newer model most of all the sat nav !!! It's much faster, I can usb my iPod now and the screen is sooo much better!!! Photos of new and old attached!! 04b2f4f87452751cafffd706ba388055.jpg0d995d307330fe8ffc76070248b6831f.jpg

One question I do have about the dsg though, when it's in sport mode is it not meant to go into 6th gear? If your sat cruising on the motorway it just sits in 5th :/

My only other "issue" is that the new sat nav is very Americanised!! Gas stations etc ( there were others - can't remember now!!

Leaseing?

Mine doesnt go into 6th in sport mode, i guess 6th is probably viewed as a sort of overdrive.

Looks awesome, Sport mode will hold gears longer so if your not going fast enough no need for 6th.

How come the change so soon? did Skoda offer a good get out deal? Im only asking as I have ordered a new 220 DSG estate and was wondering if and when Skoda will usually try and get you out into a new one.

It's a company car, they are on a flexible lease so can chop and change whenever, but I wanted an auto :) fed up of changing gear!!

How fast is not fast enough? Was sat on motorway at 80 and it was still in 5th in S!

Would assume it depends on revs, if its under a certain revs won't change. Only what the Skoda sales told me when test driving one, said sport will hold gears longer and only change when you tell it to or red line it.

Enjoy, I love the car in white, outside lane of the motorway seems to clear for you  :D

Looks awesome.  Yes it is speed related, 4th won't go into 5th unless you're over 4,000rpm, I'm sure 5th would be the same going into 6th at whatever speed that is.

If it's a company car it will be much faster than a privately owned car.....

Didn't realise McDonalds were doing these now!!!!

Mine neither, so I was quite surprised to see Edward's has.  Maybe it's a time thing, as in keep up a steady motorway speed and it'll eventually drop into 6th? I have to pull mine back into D to get 6th - maybe I just need longer roads.

This is why it confused me yesterday. It didn't seam to want to go in before! But I entered the motorway on quite a long slip road and by the time I was on it was in S6!
