Skype....does it work OK ..Cheaper?

Featured Replies

Been looking at skype for ages ...and wanted your opinion .....does it work?

is it any cheaper to use "skype out" for USA/Australia calls?

Basically if you use it ...how do you rate it?

No mic on my pc so would probably get USB handset (looks like a normal phone) anyone use one?

Thanks

Yes it works just fine. Currently it's free PC to PC, but PC to phone costs. My son uses it in Japan to talk to us and his mates here. Don't know about the USB handsets, but they can't be any worse than a normal laptop built in mic, and that works OK.

I use Skype purely for SkypeOut calls. When you call abroad the quality is brilliant, it really is, it is just like a normal call. It's very cheap as well. I was calling France on my mobile at 20ppm then found Skype was 1.4ppm. You need to top it up with paypal and it comes out as Euros.

I use the USB hanset from Play.com and no problems yet with it.

It's worth a better look anyway

was looking at stuff here and here

if you look at PC world, the plantronics stuff had a €5 Skype credit a little while ago, not sure if it is still on though
