Timing issues... Again!

Featured Replies

Got around to prepping the Fabia ready for timing. However, the Haynes covers ASY, AMF and ASZ. Mine is a BLT and can't find anywhere the torque settings and timing settings, so we're going off the ASZ. Is this okay? It's all I can think of doing! Thankyou!

Timing is fixed, you use the locking pin and the crank lock before you take the cambelt off, that way the new belt goes on in exactly the same place, if your cambelt has snapped say, then there is a very small triangle on the crank pulley which should point straight up the engine and the cam pulley can only be locked in one position. The ASZ bolt torque settings will be fine.
