Skoda UK has a new Brand Director, Alasdair Stewart has left the building.

Featured Replies

The new Skoda UK Brand Director is Duncan Movassaghi.

(he was Head of sales operations at Skoda, then recently Head of Service and Parts Operations for VW passenger cars.)

Hopefully an all new attitude of Can Do from Skoda UK Customer Services and a bit better

communications to Customer, and not just press releases with Good News Stories and how many awards they receive and Surveys they top.

Customers cars in for 'the fix', and honest explanations and facts over what needs done and gets done.

More information when there are Service Campaigns, Recall Actions or actual Recalls.

Probably long overdue. Still at least the new guy hasn't got the volume of crap to deal with relating to the Fabia vrs mk2

I wonder if he has the ability to convince Central Operations to get a Fabia 1.8 RS into the UK Market

Will be interesting to see if there is a difference in the way the "Brand" is being taken.

Currently it's two fingers up to enthusiasts and many loyal customers on Briskoda, a lack of any proper sporty cars (only VRS is a great big front wheel drive corporate sized car) and a whole family of brand look-alikes.

Not to mention trying to get away from smaller dealerships that give great customer service and built brand loyalty with a move to huge franchise operators and retail park showrooms with big glass windows and less personal contact to the customer.

New name on the corner office, business as usual

Ah but this one was a Banker, or worked for Bankers, so obviously in the right job working with the Volkswagen Group.

It is almost amusing that the head of Skoda UK said this stuff, then weeks later the Emissions Scandal arrives.

Then very little is heard from that same person that was going to KISS.

Apologies very few and information to owners comes from VW rather than Skoda UK in the UK.

So, what would be an appropriate farewell gift for A.S. ?

The Skoda CEO Dr. Winfried Vahland left Skoda to take over VW North America and had resigned before ever taking up the post.

So we will see what New Position Alasdair gets in the Volkswagen Group and if he stays in it.

Everyone heading a VWG division can not have been clueless to the lies and cheating that was going on with vehicles that they were promoting the sales of.

Surely 'Soap on a rope' will be the gift most appropriate sometime down the line for some VWG Executives and Board Members.

VW recommend Castrol, so maybe some form of Lube is the best gift, easy the pain of being shoved out of your cosy job.

Not a cynical comment -   But these people resigning will get a good payoff ( another bonus for failure payment ? ).

Just like the US Banks that caused the global crash - Greed Rules.

A new job for Alasdair Stewart now.

Good luck with that, hopefully the Westminster Committee looking into the Defeat Device cheats have him in for some

questioning on what he knew in his time heading Skoda UK, and then all the past jobs with the Volkswagen Group.

Not sure if he ever said sorry to the customers that Skoda UK were misleading.

It's not usual to get a leaving present if you leave of your own volition though.

In his defence, his job was all about increasing revenue and margins, which conflicts with free repairs of disgruntled customers, to a point just before they switch loyalty. I've no idea how successful he's been at margin improvements, and UK sales are easy enough to find out if it's interesting enough.

Sales creeping up no matter how Alasdair Stewart kept spinning it, or actually it was Registrations of new cars for Fleet & Lease that actually need to be 'Sold' later as used cars and the heady sales / registrations of 77,000 in 2015 in the UK is less than impressive.

Then the UK Dealerships relationships with Skoda UK might be an issue.
