Flicking down for right works, but flicking up either gives nothing or indicates right as well. Only indicates left if I hold it up. It's currently intermittent, but getting annoying.

Threads here say I should clean the electrical contacts...but where exactly are they? Would anyone mind pointing me towards a guide?

Octavia faults are like buses, nothing for a while then 3 at once!

Squirt some contact cleaner on the ball of the stalk where it enters the steering column. If this doesn't work you need to remove the stalk, which at this point you may as well renew it for a new one.

Despite the faults, i still love the Octy dearly :p

That contact spray is like magic in a can. I was dubious as I couldn't see any gaps at the ball end of the stalk, but sprayed liberally and twiddled the stalk furiously. Hey presto!

Might use the rest of the can on other electrical contacts...

Result!
