starting problem

Featured Replies

hope for some advice guys! 4 weeks ago i hydrolocked my engine got it back after 1 week in garage mostly rebuilt

been running fantastic for 3 weeks now and suddenly on thursday it cut out at idle speed it cranked over for a good bit

then started again. when driving its fine no problems it now seems to cut out when i go to stop at junctions or roundabouts then takes ages to crank over but eventually starts.

I have noticed that just before it cuts out it feels like fuel starvation then cuts out again.

I have changed fuel filter still the same, car is in garage just now and they are thinking of fitting a fuel pump does this sound plausible.

Could this be an injector problem if so would it drive normally or would it constantly cut out when driving rather cutting out when the engine lowers to a 1000 rev's.

After car has started after cranking over for a bit if I turn the engine off it restarts almost instantly the next time.

09 plate Octavia TDI Elegance 105BHP.

Any help would be much appreciated thanks ! Mark
