Water leaking into cabin and boot.....

Featured Replies

Hi all,

there's probably an old thread somewhere but I've not managed to find it. My Fabia Mk2 has a wet driver's footwell, offside rear passenger's seat and a pool of water in the spare wheel well.

I've had the car just over a year and it hasn't been a problem and the excessive rain we've had over the last few weeks may have brought it to light

I've established that the tailgate seal has come loose which may account for the spare wheel well (I've checked the rear light seals) but I cant find all the clips to remove the inner trim panel -- any offers?

Also, I have no idea on the footwell or rear seat -- again, any offers?

thanks all

If you pull the rear passenger seat up there's a wire for the rear washwipe which can leak and wet the seat

Mine does it so I don't use the wash wipe until its fixed

Don't know about the foot well though

I've just remounted the tailgate seal and refitted the trim which will HOPEFULLY help with the spare wheel well. I'll drop the seat back before I set off tomorrow morning and will let you know!

Thanks for the tip!

Did it fix your problem? I have a lot of water below my spare tire as well

Hi amp1967,

In case water in the spare wheel: first you should check vent frames which are places under rear bumper, under both lamps. Above those frames is mounted two hoods, which are preventing drip the water through vents to inside of the boot. Sometimes those hood or frames are falling down from the vents gap and then water comes down to the boot and collecting in the spare wheel.

If you want to check this you should unmount both rear lamps (you don't have to unmount bumper yet). Then you will seeing those vents frames with hoods. If you press these frames, the problem may be resolved.
