Powered Tailgate Issues

Hi,

I have a 2020 Skoda Karoq 1.5tsi sportline with the powered tailgate, which recently has been problematic with the latch failing to release and tailgate not opening. To open the tailgate I had to manually release the latch (from within the boot space) and then press the latch button on the outside which allowed the powered struts to raise the tailgate no problem.

I sourced a new (third-party) latch mechanism and fitted it and now I have a new problem!! The latch mechanism works fine, but the soft close actuator does not fully pull the tailgate into the fully latched position.

Has anyone else had this problem or are aware that there are other considerations? Are there any control parameters that need adjusting?
