01334 - Door Control Module; Rear Right Door locks / Windows not working

Featured Replies

Hi all, has anyone had the following issues and the associated fault code on VCDS and know the fix?

Car: 2006 2.0 PD TDi 140 Estate

Issue: the rear offside passenger door will not lock / unlock and the window will not go up or down.

So no matter if I try from the keyfob, the interior lock switch and try the handle (inside and out) the door will not open.

The window will not go up or down from either the door switch, the global opening or the drivers arm control panel.

Suggests no power at all to that door!

The fault:

I've tried various checks on wiring on both the drivers A pillar cables and the B pillar in the rubber boots. No cable problems have been found. Going by research some have found a snapped wire in these locations which was the cause.

All my wires look ok. I have checked all fuses and even pulled them out and reseated!

Anyone had this before and sorted it?

Does anyone have a wiring pin out diagram to help with me testing?

Cheers all.

Chris

Small update, looks like via VCDS the switches on the drivers panel are showing as functioning (open, auto open, close, auto close) but still no power to the rear door.

Forgot to test the rear window switch in VCDS for the same action, that will be for this eve. Also, no illumination on the rear door switch, so looking much more like it's a rear door fault now I think.

Getting the door card off will be fun whilst its deadlocked shut!

Any hints on how to go about this? Presume, remove seats would make it easier.

I would go back with somebody else and check that big grommet in pillar, clip it off on both sides pillar, door.. And while pushing wires firmly in place get your friend to activate 'said' switches, there could possibly be a corroded wire or bad connection.. I know you checked already but make sure 100%.

Thanks, yea performed those checks cheers. Even removed the boots fully leaving just the wires plugged in and given them a wriggle etc.

I am getting power (12v) to the rear door (tested by multimeter at B pillar wires), so this now looks more and more like the fault is inside the rear door which is locked.

My guess is on a dead door control module which is part of the window winding mech in that door.  The ultimate joy ;)

Small update should it help anyone else.

After testing as much as I could without ripping the door card off (whilst door was deadlocked closed) I admitted defeat and got it in to my local VAG indi.

After their diagnosis he confirmed it is indeed the rear door motor and control unit. It comes in one part with the lock control and a motor for the window.

That is not a cheap part! £193 plus Cameron's cut!!

Anyhoo, that has now restored the window and the lock, but I've now noticed that I've lost the one touch window open and closing.  Also lost the ability to lock with the key, so the car remains with the garage.

I suspect it is a coding issue now, since the new module will need to be coded to the car when installed.

What are the colours of the CAN wires and where do they go to the dash? I have the same fault code, I have a second hand door module but it isn't working (this unit could be faulty also). I would like to do resistance check from the source of the wires to the pillar b. As there is power in the door and no breaks between pillar and the door. If there no broken wires, it has to be the or the door module or ccm?
