Wind Noise Around The Driver Door Pillar Etc..

Featured Replies

All...

My Ocatvia vRS seems to have excessive wind noise around the drivers door pillar going into the back door.. This happens between around 70mph ( well normal Motorway speeds ;) )

My Leon and the Fabia and Felica that i've driven have been

far quieter around this area... Anyone had similar issues?

Also my Climate system is beginning to smell for the first 3-4mins I've read this somewhere on here so I will do a search

but it smells like Vinegar.. YUK!!!!

Last but not least there is a clunk when letting the clutch up sometimes.. Is this normal???

Clutch clunk - if slight, then yes it is normal.

Air con smell - known problem - how to avoid plus how to sort out have been posted here.

Wind noise,

sounds like the door needs a little adjusting to fit the rubber properly.

My prev Leon's x2 and my Passat all had Climate.... etc and the vRS is the first car I've noticed the smell inside... Also

I allways run my Climate in Auto so Air con is allways on...

which was allways the same on my prev cars.....

I reckon a phone call to the dealer for this....

+ the other wind noise problem which is still ongoing....

and the ongoing front drivers side washer jet is crap..

cheers

Dazz

The washer jet should be easy to sort, you need to get the dealer to reseat the scuttle panel that the washer jet is mounted on. I had all kinds of problems with mine till I had new windscreen then voila it worked fine.

The CC in mine smells sometimes, although only for a short time. Try running with the A/C off for a bit (econ mode) to dry out the evaporator, the smell is caused by bacteria in the damp left behind if you just switch off, especially after a short run

I don't do short runs'' the usual is 2.5hours and about 90 miles!

I will follow the info given and see if it makes a difference...

cheers

Dazz, this recent thread has lots of useful info relating to smelly aircon.

I've tried turning the aircon off.. this does not eliminate the smell...

And having 3 other cars with the exact same system in with no problems it

must be something different....

The washer jet does'nt seem to pump out the same amount of water than the other side....

Wind noise is still there,,

Now the CD changer is playing up -- MECHANIC displayed on the HU

and no playback... cleared only by ejecting CD cartridge, happened twice now

Its going in to the dealers... Do you think they will lend me a Furby vRS????

 :drive:

"Do you think they will lend me a Furby vRS????"
