Headlights

So I decided to do some research and contacted a motoring journalist who reviewed the particular model of car I purchased, who then contacted Skoda to see if he could shed some light on it.

Great pun!!

'checked the level of the lights but have them set as good as i can'.

?

Does that mean you checked the

'setting for load in vehicle by turning the adjustment in the car, and not the actual lights as fitted'?

Was all that the Dealership did in the end was to re-adjust the lights the car left the factory fitted with properly?

ie

What they are going to have to do at a PDI now if Skoda CZ are exporting cars with badly adjusted lights from the production line.

That is what they are telling me they did, They could have replaced the bulbs for all I know; Bearing in mind that the car has been down with the dealership once before to check the lights and they couldn't find a fault, it was only when I started to kick up a fuss that Skoda Ireland sent their own engineer to the dealership and he/she inspected the car and reported to me that they found that the lights were incorrectly aligned.

I am still wondering why the garage didn't find this fault at PDI or when they inspected it after I complained.

Probably because a PDI checks very little, and some Technicians / Fitters / Employees even miss that the Transportation Blocks are still in the Springs.

Lots of VW Group and other Manufacturers cars are driving around with lights set wrongly and never picked up on until the car gets a MOT.

At least now your car sets a precedent,

Skoda know you had an issue, the Motoring Journalist knows, we know, so a Dealership Technician / Fitter / Employee might say

'They are all like that'.

But Skoda can not say ' We have never heard of any issues'   They know, they have known for years.

Now Customers / Owners just need to complain if they have an issue.
