Missing my Fabia a little, worth putting it back together?

Background;

I had/have a Fabia vRS, spent a fortune on it, loved it to bits. About 18 months ago it started playing up, I'd been considering something else anyway so when it started getting stuck in gears I parked it up and started using our Octavia vRS while the Mrs wasnt using it. Decided to sell all the parts from it, brakes, wheels, coilovers, turbo, intercooler, bumpers, bits of interior trim etc etc.

The rest is sat on the drive, it was suppose to go scrap but I lost the V5 so it's just been sat there on bricks, one of those 'I'll sort it out tomorrow' jobs. Roll on the past few days, I've found myself looking on eBay at how much they go for and now I've been going through old pictures of her. I'm seriously considering having another Fabia in my fleet. The other half has the BM, I have the Panda of love for work, which does what I need it to and is great fun but I still admire a nice Fabia when I see one.

So, the point of the post, if I decided I wanted another AND wanted to get mine back on the road, would there be damage or issues from the engine being sat for so long, especially with no intercooler or turbo fitted? I need to work out if it'd be cheaper to just buy another and finally scrap mine but TBH, I quite like the idea of getting mine on the road again. It wouldnt need much inside as by the end I had run it without any interior anyway, if I got one it'd be used as a toy more than a daily again.

Sorry for the long waffling post, I'm still in two minds what to do lol.

If it makes it easier, no engine and no V5 required according to my local metal merchants (legit not random traveller) who've taken a few shells off me without 'em :)

'Cough' 1.8t 'Cough' :)

Be good to see you back in a Fabia
