Stream radio coded?

Featured Replies

Hi all does anybody know if the stream radio that goes in a 06 octavia is coded as I'm gonna do the mp3 adaption but would rather get the code if needed 1st... Thanks

Does that mean you are swapping the Stereo for one that does MP3?

The stereo does have a code yes. Once the code is entered the car remembers it. So if you took your stereo out then back in you wouldn't need a code. But a new (to that particular car) stereo would need you to enter a code.

You can get codes from ebay. You just need to give them the serial number off the stereo.

No keeping the stereo but put 3 wires in the back that lead to a 3.5mm headphone jack. There's a video on YouTube shows how to do it, quiet easy

Ah got ya. In that case then you won't need your radio code. It may come up initially asking for the code put just leave the ignition switched on and it should get it automatically from the car (code is stored in the instrument cluster).
