The radio reception has got really poor in our Fabia since all that rain we had. It's crackly and only getting a few stations.

Its a 2010 facelift.

Which base should I go for? Is it worth fitting one with GPS as planning fitting a sat nav later this year?

Sure its the base and not the antenna? Do you have the stubby or the longer one, with thinner mast with the  helter-skelter design ? Is the area you drive in suffering more anyway at this time of year? My reception worsens a little if I have the lights turned on. (Perhaps its lack of screening) But I have a mini mast, from a Citroen.

I have the longer one. I do have a spare I could try. It has degraded massively. When we first got it I could get to almost work before it dropped the station. Now it's around third of the way there. Even round the area it crackles a lot.

My superb has no problem in the same area with the bee sting aerial.
