USB port

Featured Replies

New Octavia bought last August. Unable to recognize USB key when inserted. Dealer has had 4 goes at rectifying incl installing new Amundsen system. Presently has had car for 3 days and says cannot find solution despite being in contact with factory.

What size and brand USB stick, and what file system is it formatted as? Have you copied files to it using a PC or a Mac?

I know it sounds a daft question, but does your USB stick work in another Octavia at the dealers?

Have they replaced the actual USB port itself, it is a separate part to the Amundsen?

Unfortunately I don't know make of USB key, bought from a supermarket shape of Superman!! Downloaded from my PC, Asus, in MP3 format. Car still in garage so don't know exactly what they have tried until I collect car tomorrow evening.

What capacity is the key? If larger than 32gb it is likely to have been formatted as exFAT, not sure if the Amundsen supports exFAT?

MIB2 definitely does, which an August car probably has, unless it was bought from stock. Dunno about MIB1.

Have you tried other USB keys? Or tried yours in other Octavia's?

I would have thought for the dealer it would be cheaper just to give you a Skoda branded USB key.

Thanks for all the comments. Some of the terms are beyond me as I'm nearly 70. Picked car up from dealer this evening and system is now working fine with my Superman USB stick. Apparently after replacing complete Amundsen system they had a problem reprogramming and had to work with the factory before succeeding.

.... or they connected the cable between the USB port and the Amundsen :)
