Questions about retrofitting some stuff - is it possible?

Featured Replies

Instead of making a couple of these threads I'll just ask about all the stuff in here that I'm wondering is possible to retrofit. Is it possible or would it just be a pain in the *ss and expensive as h***?

- Rear seat heatwarmers

- Windsheild warmer

- Lane assist

- This AFS-system which helps you out with when to use high beam

- Kessy

- Intelligent Light Assistant

My guess is some will be possible but at huge cost.

No so easy these days. Andyvee would be best to answer.

I would imagine they are all expensive to retrofit if it was possible. Kessy especially would be expensive if even possible to retrofit as there is no ignition barrel

Id suggest they will all be both technically challenging and cost prohibitive in equal measure. Sadly bar the exception of a handful of options (usually reliant on the car already having something fitted such as lane assist) the MQB platform makes retrofitting v difficult.

Some functionality can be coded however where the correct supporting hardware exists.....High beam assist and traffic sign recognition if you already have lane assist and cornering fogs being the three that spring to mind.

In the UK the RS comes with lane assist so many people have the HBA coded also the cornering fogs.
