Central Locking gremlin

Featured Replies

Central Locking disables itself overnight. I can set CL by keyfob after a day's driving (not continuously) but by next morning flashing red light is no longer showing and I cannot use fob or key to open all doors. Doors are deadlocked. Only driver's door will open manually with key. There is a loud clicking/clunking noise from all locks whern engine is started and this continues until after about 15 minutes or when engine and car has warmed up all locks suddenly become free again. Both infuriating and dangerous as 3 doors can't be opened from inside until locks become free. Battery is good and car runs normally.

Anyone solved this issue? So far suggestions are: A malfunctioning driver's door lock unit; Poor contacts in the wiring to one or more of the locks; A faulty relay somewhere. I'm taking it to an auto-electrician but it may be working normally by the time I get there!
