Spare wheel tyre size?

Hi All

This post is aimed at a member with more brain than I have! That could include an awful lot of you,LOL. I am going to buy from Skoda a full size steel spare wheel. The spare wheel is 6.5j x 16" with an offset of ET50. My own alloy wheels are 7.5j x18" with an offset of ET51. As you might know, the tyre size on the car is 225/40 x18". Now to keep the rolling resistance the same, what size tyre should I fit?

205/55 R16.

 

All the permissible tyre sizes can be found inside your fuel filler flap...

Cheers silver1011 and GoneOffskiroottoot that info will be most useful. Going to get the wheel and new tyre tomorrow. Will be better than the gunge supplied in the wheel well if ever I get a puncture.
